Crochet Hat

Crochet Hat:
Hi All,

Before starting I would like to thanks you for liking and appreciating my work and efforts. I try to make my patterns very simple so you can understand better and make beautiful products.
Today I am sharing with you a puff stitch hat that can fit 1-4 year old. This hat is worked from down to top.

I used single crochet for ribbing and puff stitch, front post and back post for the body of hat.
these stitches look so beautiful together. This hat is worked in straight rows and sewed afterwards.
You will need dk weight yarn. You can use acrylic or wool.

You will need the following items:

• Red color dk weight yarn (100g)
• 4mm crochet hook (G)
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Spacial terms:

• sc=single crochet
• dc=double crochet
• fpdc=front post double crochet
• bpdc=back post double crochet.
• ch= chain
• dec dc=decrease double crochet

Special Stitches Used:

Puff stitch:

Yarn over, take the hook in the stitch, pull a loop up high, repeat 4 times, yarn over and pull through all loops from hook,ch 1 to secure.

Front post double crochet:

Yarn over, take your hook from back side to front covering the stitch base taking the hook back from next space, yarn over, pull your hook back, yarn over and pull through the 2 loop from hook yarn over and pull through the next 2 loops from hook.

Back post double crochet:

yarn over,take your hook under the base of stitch from front ,yarn over,pull your hook back,yarn over and pull through the 2 loop from hook yarn over and pull through the next 2 loops from hook.


Pattern:

Size 1-4 year old.

Ribbing:

Chain 10.
row 1: ch1, 1sc in second ch from hook,1sc in each stitch across (10).
row 2-60: 1sc in each stitch across in back loop only (10).

Body:

Ch1, 1sc on top of each row of ribbing (60)
Row 1: ch 3,*puff ch1 puff in first stitch,1 dc in next 4*. repeat from *to*.
Row 2: ch 3, *1fpdc in next 4, puff ch1 puff*. repeat from *to*.
Row 3: ch 3,*puff ch1 puff,1 bpdc in next 4*. repeat from *to*
Row 4-11: repeat row 2 and 3.
Row 12: ch 3, *puff ch1 puff, 1 bpdc, dec dc in next two,1bpdc*. repeat from*to*.
row 13: ch3, *1fpdc in next 3,puff ch1 puff in next*. repeat* to*.
Row 14: ch3,*puff ch1 puff, dec dc,1bpdc*. repeat* to*.
Row 15: ch 3,*dec dc,puff ch1 puff*.  repeat from* to*
Row 16: ch 3, skip all dc, make puff stitch only.

Sewing:

Sew the hat vertically from top to down towards ribbing.
Close the hat from top using yarn needle. see video tutorial for guidelines.
