v shaped neckline

How to make starting chain for different sizes for v neckline.

You will need measurement for neck width.

You can measure yourself using child/persons garment or you can use measurement charts available online.

On the chart you can see title neck width.

For example if

Neck width = 3 inch

Then

1.     Make your chain 3 inches long.

2.     Count the number of chains .it will be your back of garment.

3.     Add same number of chains for shoulders, we will give half to each shoulder.

4.     Add 2 more chains,1 for each front side.(for v neck).

5.     Add 4 more chains for the corners.

 Total chains:

If your 3 inch=14chains then calculations will be

14(back)+7+7(shoulders)+1+1(front)+4(corners)=34

To make complete the v shape ,from the 2nd row we will make 2stiches in 1st and last stitch of the row.

Keep working until your stitch count for back is equal to the stitch count of the front.for example

Stiches for back =28

Stiches for each front side=14(14+14=28).

Then stop making 2stiches in 1st and last stitch of the row. you have completed your v shape neckline.

Note(don’t make your neckline too wide, other wise you will  end up with wider chest).
