Vintage Pineapple Crochet Baby Dress

​Welcome back to my craft corner! Today I am sharing the written pattern for my Vintage Pineapple Baby Dress. This dress features a stunning 15-pineapple flare and a delicate round yoke, making it the perfect heirloom gift for a new arrival.

​Pattern Details

  • ​Size: 0–6 Months (Instructions for larger sizes below)
  • ​Yarn: King Cole Cotton 4-ply (Approx. 3 balls / 510m)
  • ​Hook: 3.0mm
  • ​Gauge: 3 V-Stitches and 3 Rows = 1 inch
  • ​Terminology: US Crochet Terms

​Abbreviations

  • ​Ch: Chain
  • ​Dc: Double Crochet
  • ​Sc: Single Crochet
  • ​V-St: V-Stitch (Dc, ch 1, Dc in same stitch)
  • ​Shell: (2 Dc, ch 2, 2 Dc in same space)

​Sizing Guide: How to Scale Up

​This pattern uses a multiple of 3 + 3. To make a larger dress, increase your starting chain in steps of 9.

  • ​0-6 Months: Chain 63 (20 V-Sts)
  • ​6-12 Months: Chain 72 (23 V-Sts)
  • ​1-2 Years: Chain 81 (26 V-Sts)

​The Yoke (Worked in Rows)

​Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across to last 2 sts. Skip next st, ch 1, Dc in last st. Turn.

Row 2 (V-St Row): Ch 3, Dc in ch-1 sp, Dc in next st. *Skip next st, V-St (Dc, ch 1, Dc) in next st. Repeat from * across. Dc in last 2 stitches. Turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, 1 Dc in each Dc and in each ch-1 space across. Turn.

Rows 4–8: Repeat Rows 2 and 3.

​Row 9 (Dividing for Sleeves):

Ch 4, Dc in next V-st. Ch 1, Dc in next V-st. Repeat across the first 8 V-sts (Back). Ch 10, skip next 14 V-sts (Sleeve). Continue working across next 33 V-sts (Front). Ch 10, skip next 14 V-sts (Sleeve). Continue across remaining 8 V-sts (Back).

Join with a Slip Stitch to the first stitch to begin working in the round.

​The Skirt (Worked in Rounds)

​Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as Dc). In ch-1 space, work (Dc, ch 2, Dc). Skip 2 spaces, in next space work 9 Dc. Skip 2 spaces, work Shell in next. Repeat from * around. Join.

Round 2: Sl st to ch-2 sp. Ch 3, work Shell in shell. Dc in next dc, [ch 1, Dc] in each of next 8 dc. Shell in shell. Repeat around. Join.

Round 3: Sl st to shell. Ch 3, Shell in shell. Dc in next dc, [ch 2, Dc] in each of next 8 dc. Shell in shell. Repeat around. Join.

Round 4 (Starting Pineapples): Sl st to shell. Ch 3, Shell (3 Dc, ch 2, 3 Dc). [Sc in ch-2 sp, ch 3] 8 times, Sc in last ch-2 sp. Shell (3 Dc, ch 2, 3 Dc). Repeat around. Join.

Round 5: Sl st to shell. Ch 3, Shell (3 Dc, ch 2, 3 Dc). Ch 2, [Sc in ch-3 loop, ch 3] 7 times, Sc in last ch-3 loop. Ch 2, Shell in shell. Repeat around.

Rounds 6–22: Continue repeating the pineapple decrease pattern as shown in the video.

  • ​Increases: From Row 7, make your shells (4 Dc, ch 1, 4 Dc). Add 1 chain to the spaces between shells as the skirt grows.

​Finishing Touches

​Sleeves: Join yarn at the underarm. Work 1 round of (Shell, skip a V, 5 Dc in next V) around the armhole for a ruffled edge.

Buttons: Sew two buttons to the back opening.

plum crochet baby dress: hello everyone, today I am going to share with you my favorite crochet item yes crochet baby dress. dresses are always girls favorite clothing item, they remind them princesses and fairies.when they wear dresses they feel like a princess. so I made this crochet dress with matching bolero jacket for little princess.it is for 9-12 month old. it is a long dress. I have used 2 colors for this dress plum and beige.i have used double crochet and shell stitches for this dress. crochet baby cardigan, hello everyone, here I present my new design of 2018,its a baby cardigan with open collar.
