Step 1: Foundation & Yoke

Step 2: The Separation (Joining Round)

When you reach your designated Yoke Row, follow this chart to divide your shells for the front, back, and sleeves.

Important: In the joining round, remember to Chain 6 when skipping the sleeve shells. This creates the underarm bridge. On the following row, you will work 2 new shells into this ch-6 space to expand the chest.

The Pattern Instructions

Follow Video Along.
 

Foundation: Chain the count required for your size.

Row 1: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and each across. Turn.

Row 2 (Mesh Base): Ch 3, sk 1 st, *V-st (dc, ch 2, dc) in next st, sk 2; repeat from * until 1 st remains, dc in last st. Turn.

Row 3 (Small Shells): Ch 3, *5 dc in ch-2 sp, sc in space between V-sts; repeat from * across, dc in top of turning ch.

Row 4 (Increase Mesh): Ch 4 (dc + ch 1), *sc in 3rd dc of shell, ch 3, dc in sc, ch 3; repeat from * across, dc in turning ch.

Row 5 (Medium Shells): Ch 3, *6 dc in ch-3 space, sc in dc; repeat from * across, dc in turning ch.

Rows 6-7+: Continue repeating Mesh and Shell rows, increasing dc counts in shells as the yoke grows. Stop at the recommended Yoke Row in the chart above.

Body & Finish

Complete the separation using the chart above. Work Rows 9–13 (or until desired length) by repeating the Mesh and Shell rows. Fasten off and finish with a delicate picot border or ribbon tie.
