Barbie Dress
Hello crochers, welcome to my blog.
Today I am sharing a pattern for a crochet baby dress. This is very easy crochet pattern, it works really fast ,you can make it in 1-2 days depending on your speed.
I have chosen bright colours,(bright pinks, parrot green and yellow). You can make it in the colours of your choice, it can be made in solid colour as well.
I have use double crochet for the yolk and v stitch for the body of the dress. I have used a v stitch variation in the last row for the edging of the dress.
This is a beginner friendly crochet pattern.it will fit to a 3 year old but you can make it smaller or bigger by decreasing and increasing few rows in the yolk.

Pattern: Barbie Dress
Yarn: Double knitting yarn – Bright pink(colour A) – Parrot green(colour B) – Yellow (colour C).
Hook: 4.5mm
Gauge: 8 row and 13-14 stitches= 4inches
Abbreviations:
ch: chain, dc: double crochet, sl: slip stitch, double crochet decrease: dcd.
Special stitches:
V stitch for yolk: dk, ch 1, dk.
V stitch for body: dk, ch 2, dk.
Materials:
· 1 skein of each colour
· Yarn needle
· 4.5 mm crochet hook
Instructions:
Chain:
Using colour A ch 52
· Row 1: ch 3,v in 4th ch from hook, 5dc, v, 12dc, v, 12dc, v, 12 dc, v, 5dc, v.(46)
· Row 2: ch 3, v, 7dc, v,14dc, v, 14dc,v, 14dc, v, 7dc,v.(56)
· Row 3: ch 3, v, 9dc, v,16dc, v,16dc, v,16dc, v, 9dc, v.(66)
Join the the yolk by making the sl on top on ch 3 at end of row 3.(video for guidance)

· round 4: ch 3, 4 dcd,1 dc in each stitch across(v stich in the middle of v), 4 dcd.
· Round 5:ch 3, 1 dc in all stitches (v in the middle of each v stitch).
· Round 6- 12: follow round 5
Note: change to Colour B in round 12.
Joining shoulders
· Round 13: ch 4, skip a stitch ,dc ,ch 1,skip a stitch, dc(repeat until you get v stitch),dc in v stitch, skip all stiches b/w this and next v(for sleeve)dc in v stitch, ch 1, skip a stitch, dc, ch1, skip a stitch, dc(repeat until you get v)
dc in v stitch, skip all stitches b/w this and next v(for sleeve),dc in v ,ch1,skip a stitch, dc in next .repeat. join the round by making a sl on top on ch 3. (video Tutorial for guidance)
Body :
§ Round 14: ch 3, v(dc,ch2,dc) in every ch space.
§ Round 15-36: ch 3, v in middle of v stitch.(change to colour c in round 28)
§ Round 37: ch 3, v(dc,ch 5(sl in chain 2),dc) in centre of the v stitch.(see video for guidance)
Finishing:
· Finish off ,sew all loose end using a yarn needle
Pom pom Tie
Ch 70 using colour C to make a tie ,add tie on the top of dress on the dress neckline inserting from one side and take it out on other side of neckline, add pom pom on the both ends of tie.
Pop pom: for pom pom take small amount of yarn from all 3 colours(A,B,C).wrap the yarn on top of two fingers (you can use fork as well) until you get desired thickness.
Take a yarn strand , put wrapped yarn on the strand and tie securely.
Then cut the loops, roll the pom pom b/w the palms of your hands and cut all the longer strands(keep 2 long strands to stitch to tie it on dress Tie). (video Tutorial)
Sizing:
This pattern is designed to fit a 3 year old.
For smaller sizes decrease few rounds in yolk.
For larger sizes increase few rounds in the yolk.
