I have used double crochet, and single crochet to make the sweater, double crochet for the body and single crochet in the back loop for ribbing. Here are the crochet hooks you'll need: 3mm for newborn 3.5mm for 3 months 4mm for 6 months 5mm for 12 months To adjust the size: Simply add 4 chains to the base chain for every size up you want to make. Gauge: 19 stiches and 10 rows make 4 inches.

Abbreviations:

ch: chain dc: double crochet, sc: single crochet , black loop: bl.

Materials:

 Double knitting yarn(100g)

·          Yarn needle

 3mm crochet hook

Instructions:

Chain:


0-3 months. 34ch.

Keep increasing 4 chains for every larger size up to 12 month old.

·              34+3

·       Row 1: 1dc in the 4th ch from hook,v,7dc,v,14dc,v,7dc,v,1dc.(38)

·       Row 2:2dc in 1st,1dc,v,9,v,16,v,9,v,1dc,2dc in last(48)

·       Row 3: 2dc in 1st,3dc,v,11,v,18,v,11,v,3dc,2dc in last(56)

·       Row 4-7: Repeat row 3.

·       (at end of row 7 stitches for back and front are equal , we will close our v neck opening here.(make a invisible join on 1st dc of row 7 and join the round.

             Row 8-10:continue increasing the yoke, join at the end of every round on top of 1st dc.

·        shoulder join.

·       Round 11: 1dc in each stitch, dc in first v,ch 3,skip all stiches between this v and next v for sleeve, dc in the middle of 2nd v, dc in all stiches for back, dc in next v, ch 3, skip all stitches b/w this and next v for sleeves, dc in v, dc in all the remaining stiches on front. join on top of 1st dc.( watch video tutorial given below for guidance)

         Round 12: ch 3, dc in each stitch around(make 1 dc in each of chains(6))

·       Round 13-19:1dc in each round.

 

·       Edging: chain 6,

 

·       Row 1:1sc in the 2nd ch from hook,4sc.(5sc).

 

·       Row 2:ch 1,5sc in bl.skip the one stitch of cardigan body and slip stich in next stitch.

·        Row 3:Ch1,1 sc in each of 5 sc.

 

·       Repeat row 2 and 3 util edging around the body is complete. Stitch 1st and last row together with crochet hook or yarn needle from wrong side of cardigan.

 

·       Instruction for sewing with hook.

 

·       Insert your hook in stitches from both side(starting  and ending row for edging) and make sc. 5sc

 

·       Edging for neckline:

 

·       Join your yarn in the middle of joining round.ch 1 ,1sc in next stich,ch 1 ,1sc innext stich,repeat until you reach top neckline 1 row,sc 1,skip a stitch ,sc in next,ch1,skip a stitch,sc in next continue,in the vertical dc ch 1,sc in stich,ch1 ,sc in stich.

 

·       Slip stich in ch1 to join.

 

·       Row 2.chain 1,1 sc in ch1 space, sc in stitch (repeat).slip stitch on top of ch 1 to join the round. finish off.

plum crochet baby dress: hello everyone, today I am going to share with you my favorite crochet item yes crochet baby dress. dresses are always girls favorite clothing item, they remind them princesses and fairies.when they wear dresses they feel like a princess. so I made this crochet dress with matching bolero jacket for little princess.it is for 9-12 month old. it is a long dress. I have used 2 colors for this dress plum and beige.i have used double crochet and shell stitches for this dress.
