Free Crochet Pattern: Crochet Heart 3D Bag

Handmade Heart Bag Tutorial

Essential Crochet for Beginners: Make your first garment accessory!

🛠️ Hook: Smaller than recommended

Step 1: The Heart Panels (Make 2)

Foundation: Chain 4. In 2nd ch from hook, 2 SC. 1 SC in next, 2 SC in last. Turn.

Increases: Ch 1, turn. 2 SC in the first and last stitches, 1 SC in all middle stitches. Repeat until you reach your desired bag size.

The Curves: Divide your stitches into two halves. On each half, decrease at the start and end of the row until only 3 stitches remain. Repeat for the second curve!

Step 2: The Middle Connector (Side & Bottom Strap)

This strap creates the "walls" of your bag, joining the two hearts together.

  • Foundation: Chain 11 (or your preferred depth).
  • The Pattern: Work 1 Single Crochet (SC) in each chain across.
  • The Length: Continue working SC rows until the strap is long enough to cover both sides and the bottom of your heart panels.
  • Assembly: Using a tapestry needle, stitch this middle strap to the edges of the first heart, then repeat on the other side with the second heart.

Step 3: The "Loom Band" Shoulder Strap

For a stretchy, braided look inspired by loom bands:

Chain 3. Pull up a loop in the 2nd and 3rd chain. YO and pull through all 3. For the next stitches, insert your hook into the vertical bar of the previous stitch and the next base stitch to create a linked, thick strap. Continue to your desired length!

Step 4: Closure & Final Touches

Join yarn in the back side and make single crochet in each stitch for back pannel.

make a decrease stitch in 1st and last stitch.

repeat until few stitches left. make 5 chain in middle to create a loop for button fastening.

add a  button on bag.

for neat look add single crochet border on closing flap.
