Gauge calculator

Gauge calculator:

Hello crocheters, and welcome back to my blog!
Today, I don’t have a new crochet pattern to share with you, but I do have something that I think you’ll find really useful — a handy tool for your crochet projects.

One of the most common challenges in crochet is figuring out the correct gauge for a project. To make this easier, I decided to create a simple solution. Since I’m also a software developer, I built a small app that helps with gauge calculations. It’s not a fancy app, but it’s very practical and can save you time and frustration while working on your projects.

It’s a tool made by a crocheter, for crocheters!

When you open the app, it first asks for your name, then welcomes you and provides clear instructions on how to use it.

To get started, you’ll need:

  • A swatch for your pattern

  • The number of rows in your swatch

  • The number of stitches per row

  • The weight of your swatch (you can easily measure this with a food scale)

With this information, the calculator will help you:

  • Find the correct gauge for your pattern

  • Calculate how many stitches per row you’ll need for your project

  • Estimate the total number of rows required

  • Work out how much yarn your project will need

  • And if you provide the yarn price, it will even calculate the total project cost!

It’s simple, practical, and designed to make your crochet projects easier.

So what are you waiting for? Give it a try!
