The Pattern
1. Head & Body (The Chibi Base)
R1: MR, 6 sc (6)
R2: inc x 6 (12)
R3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
R4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
R5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
R6-12: Sc around (30)
*Attach eyes between R9-10*
R13-16: Decrease rounds until closed. Change to white for neck.
2. The Iconic Messy Hair
Base Cap: Work R1-R10 as per head pattern (30 sts).
The Strands: Working around the edge of the cap:
• Sideburns: Ch 6, sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc. Sl st to cap.
• The Bangs: (Ch 7, sl st, sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc) x 3 across forehead.
• Back Texture: (Ch 4, sc, 2 hdc, sl st to cap) around remaining stitches.
3. The Waistcoat (Dark Charcoal)
Worked in rows to fit over the shirt.
Row 1: Ch 23. Turn.
Row 2: 22 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 3: 4 sc, ch 4 (skip 3), 8 sc, ch 4 (skip 3), 4 sc.
Row 4-5: Sc across. Finish with a 'V' neck decrease at the front edges.
4. The Sand Trench Coat
Follow the same logic as the waistcoat but extend Row 4-15 to create the long coat length. Add wide sleeves to fit over the arms!
Finishing Touches
Don't forget the bandages! Use white yarn to stitch "wrap" lines around the neck and one side of the face. Attach a small blue bead or crochet circle for his bolo tie.
