Abbreviations

  • Ch: Chain | Sc: Single Crochet
  • ExSc: Extended Single Crochet | St: Stitch | Sk: Skip

The Pattern

Base Chain: Chain 51.

Row 1: Work 1 ExSc in the 3rd chain from the hook. Ch 1, skip 1 stitch, ExSc in the next. Repeat pattern (Ch 1, sk 1, ExSc in next) to end.

Rows 2 – 10: Ch 3. Work 1 ExSc into each ch-1 space across. Repeat for 9 additional rows.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Place elastic lengthwise along the center of the piece.
  2. Fold piece in half (Row 1 to Row 10), capturing the elastic inside.
  3. Work a row of Sc through both layers to join them.
  4. Use a yarn needle to sew the two short ends together.

The Cream Border

Using cream yarn, attach to any edge stitch:

  • 1 Sc into base stitch.
  • Skip next stitch.
  • 3 ExSc into the following stitch.
  • Repeat (Sc, skip 1, 3 ExSc) around. Slip stitch to join and fasten off.
